Identity Dispersion

Children of light wandering through time
Hoping for a purpose so divine
Though their existence is a crime

Grabbing all, swallowing without control
Trusting the knowledge from ancient scrolls, mistakenly
Violating their own souls, disgracefully

Then the pressure cracks like broken glass
All the shattered fragments disperse from the past
A royal purpose of missing parts
The puzzle pieces of a diffused heart

In every shard a specter sleeps
No righteous meaning for the weak
But we still seek the lacking parts
Not knowing we're each a form of art

Skies alight in bleak twilight
A brackish forest of the mind
No life, nor light, nowhere to hide
Why are we all so lost inside?

From a perfect unity
A fruit from a cosmic tree
An essence shrouded in mystery
When all is one, We're not free!

Dispersion of identity tears the corpse in half
What is left behind is a muted epitaph

Dispersion of identity breaks the will in two
Constructs of the mind barely pulling through
What is left of us all?
Merely statues of stone and cold

Unresting soul that's still earthbound
Noble essence in meaning drowned
In the end the parts are scattered around
